1. NFL teams on upset alert in Week 5 – Green Bay Packers

The top pick of the week for the upset alert index is a bit of a surprise since the Packers have looked much more effective after getting blown out by the New Orleans Saints in Week 1. Green Bay has recovered nicely to rip off three straight wins, including Sunday’s 27-17 win over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The home win saw helped Green Bay improve to 3-1 as they have established themselves as the team to beat in the NFC North once again. A big matchup against second-place Chicago looms at Soldier Field in Week 6, making Week 5 a potential trap game for the Packers if they look past the Cincinnati Bengals.

The Bengals are 3-1 after rallying to top the Jaguars on Thursday night in Week 4, giving themselves three extra days to get ready for this matchup with the Packers. FanDuel has the Packers laying just three points on the road against the Bengals, a sign that the books think this game will be much closer than people think.

This matchup could be a chance for the Bengals to make a real statement that they can contend for the playoffs this year and the fact the game is at home makes the upset possibility very real. Green Bay will have to show up with full intensity for this game in order to avoid getting tripped up by the surprising Bengals.
