3. Saints defense surrenders 350 passing yards to Taylor Heinicke

The Saints defense were supposed to have an easy day at the office against the Giants. Their offense were missing wide receivers Sterling Shepard and Darius Slayton to hamstring injuries and quarterback Daniel Jones had never thrown for over 300 yards with Jason Garrett as his coordinator. Well, New Orleans dropped the ball this past Sunday.

Even without two of his top receivers, Jones threw for 402 yards (28-of-40 on passes) for two touchdowns and one interception. The Saints secondary surrendered a 52-yard touchdown to John Ross, who was just activated off the injured reserve, and a 54-yarder to running back Saquon Barkley. No one saw that coming, that’s for sure.

With the Saints allowing Jones to have a career-day, that is welcome news for Washington quarterback Taylor Heinicke. This past week, Heinicke had a solid Week 4, where he accumulated 290 passing yards and three touchdowns against Atlanta’s defense. Give the amount of passing yards the Saints gave up to Jones, it is entirely possible that Heinicke throws for 350 yards this upcoming Sunday.
