Ed Orgeron is on the hot seat, according to Bruce Feldman, whose latest report is bad news for the LSU Tigers head coach.
College football can be a cutthroat business, especially for head coaches who are graded on a “what have you done for me lately” basis.
Ed Orgeron is starting the heat in that regard.
Could LSU football coach Ed Orgeron end up fired this year?
On College GameDay on Saturday morning, Bruce Feldman reported that the LSU head coach is indeed starting to feel some pressure when it comes to job security.

“His seat is in fact warm and it got a lot warmer with the home loss to Auburn last week,” Feldman said.
He went on to explain how LSU athletic director Scott Woodward likes to make splashy hires and he did not hire Orgeron. He could look to emulate his hiring of Chris Petersen at Washington or Jimbo Fisher at Texas A&M when looking to the future for the Tigers.
If Orgeron wants to keep his job it’ll take something special considering the remainder of the schedule. They have to take on No. 16 Kentucky on Saturday, then No. 20 Florida, No. 17 Ole Miss, No. 1 Alabama and No. 13 Arkansas in the next five weeks.
The Tigers are 3-2 and could realistically come out of that stretch at 3-7. Orgeron might not survive it.
On the plus side, a winning record coming out of that run would be an impressive boost.
