Georgia football: Has JT Daniels lost his starting job to Stetson Bennett?
By John Buhler
Stetson Bennett is pushing JT Daniels to be the starting quarterback of the Georgia football team.
Through six games, Stetson Bennett and JT Daniels have identical 3-0 records quarterbacking the juggernaut Georgia football team.
While most signal-callers would thrive playing for the No. 2 team in the nation, Bennett has certainly made the most of his opportunity filling in for an injured Daniels on three occasions. He quarterbacked the Dawgs to blowout victories over UAB, Arkansas and now Auburn. Though Daniels has the higher ceiling, the more mobile Bennett is playing great. Is it a competition now?

Georgia football: Should Stetson Bennett be the starting QB over JT Daniels?
Is Bennett thriving in Todd Monken’s offense? Yes, but Jones’ point is the ultimate trump card here. Daniels may be a tad injury-prone, but he does have the higher ceiling of the two. Bennett may be able to extend plays with his legs, but Daniels is the better downfield passer. Moreover, Georgia head coach Kirby Smart cannot screw this up. He must go with Daniels when he is fully healthy.
What this comes down to is who is more equipped to beat Alabama. Bennett has more experience playing in hostile environments (Alabama, Arkansas and now Auburn), but Georgia has not gone up against a quarterback the caliber of Bryce Young. In short, Georgia would have to play a perfect game with Bennett to beat the Crimson Tide. With Daniels, that lessens the margin for error a bit.
Georgia is fortunate to have two quarterbacks capable of beating high-quality teams this season.
