Watch: Kenneth Walker III sets incredible Michigan State record vs. Rutgers
By John Buhler
Kenneth Walker III just embarrassed Rutgers, while setting a Michigan State football record.
The Michigan State football program is on fire under second-year head coach Mel Tucker, thanks in large to part to its fantastic offensive playmakers like running back Kenneth Walker III.
Walker transferred to Michigan State ahead of this season after spending his first two years at Wake Forest. While the Demon Deacons are still undefeated entering Week 6, so are the Spartans. Check out this unbelievable touchdown Walker just put on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights’ defense. Rutgers is a decent team under head coach Greg Schiano, but Walker just put them on a poster.
This is looking to be a very special season for Spartans fans, and Walker is a big reason for that.
Michigan State football: Watch Kenneth Walker III break a school record
Not only did this glorious trip to pay dirt break the game open in Michigan State’s favor, but it was the longest play from scrimmage in school history. Keep in mind that Michigan State is the alma mater of legendary running backs like Le’Veon Bell and Lorenzo White. All records are meant to be broken, and Walker just broke it in the midst of his breakout season. What a play for the Spartans!
With a win over Rutgers, Michigan State becomes bowl eligible in the fewest amount of games possible.
The Spartans still have Michigan, Ohio State and Penn State on the schedule, but Tucker has this thing humming already in year two.
