Skip Bayless had some harsh words for how the Oklahoma Sooners are faring against the Texas Longhorns in the Red River Showdown.
Lincoln Riley and his Oklahoma Sooners are having a rough time right now in the Red River Showdown. It’s still early, but the Longhorns have been able to build an impressive 28-14 lead over the Sooners.
It’s worth noting that Oklahoma’s offense isn’t that far behind Texas. Texas has gained 213 yards while the Sooners have gained 213. But an interception from quarterback Spencer Rattler and clean execution from the Longhorns have led to a lopsided affair.
As such, Skip Bayless chimed in on this one-sided game.
Skip Bayless had harsh words for Oklahoma football’s showing vs. Texas
Oklahoma is getting EMBARRASSED by Texas. 28-7 after one quarter. This is headed for 55-17. Bummer Sooner.

And Bayless is right. This game is getting out of hand and the Sooners should feel some shame over this performance.
Oklahoma fans are likely feeling bummed out as the Sooners get thrashed by the Texas Longhorns. This sort of lopsided affair isn’t all that common in the Red River Showdown. With this historic rivalry, there’s generally more competition and fight from the teams involved.
But OU is getting run over and blown out. There’s still plenty of time for the Sooners to make this contest and competitive one, but the Sooners have to start playing better now.
