Watch: Texas legend Vince Young talked so much s**t to Oklahoma fans at Red River Showdown
By John Buhler
Vince Young loves what he is seeing out of the Texas football team vs. Oklahoma on Saturday.
Texas football legend Vince Young was very impressed by what he saw out of his alma mater when they played the Oklahoma football team in Red River on Saturday.
Though the Longhorns suffered a bad loss earlier at Arkansas, Texas seems to be getting to almost back territory, as the offense and defense looked good vs. the six-time defending Big 12 champions. For as good as it has been for Texas, Young commented on the sidelines it was not looking promising for the Sooners. This would be the Longhorns’ first win over them since 2018.
With a win in the Cotton Bowl, it would be the first signature victory of the Steve Sarkisian era.
Texas football: Vince Young in awe of how well Longhorns are playing Oklahoma
While some believed Texas could contend for a Big 12 title, this is Sarkisian’s first year in Austin, and these things take time. Even if the Arkansas loss was horrible, this would be a massive step in the right direction for Texas.
They have a serious Heisman Trophy contender at running back in Bijan Robinson. If a Longhorns legend like Young is impressed, then you know things are cooking.
Texas is not yet back, but the early returns on the Sarkisian era should have its fans very excited.
