2021 NFL power rankings, Week 6: Cowboys hot, Raiders not
Jon Gruden’s club was back home after a tough Monday night loss at Los Angeles. They hosted the Chicago Bears and had to deal with old friend Khalil Mack for the second time in three years. And the usually-potent Las Vegas’ offense was stymied for most of the day.
Derek Carr threw for only 206 yards, was picked off once and sacked three times – once by Mack. The Raiders have scored a combined 23 points in losses to the Chargers and Bears.
The rejuvenated Bengals had some extra time to prepare for Aaron Rodgers and the first-place Packers. Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase were at it again. The duo combined for a 70-yard score and the rookie wideout finished with six catches for 159 yards.
Cincinnati would fall in overtime. But the bigger news came later. Jeremy Bergman of NFL.com reported that Burrow would be taken to the hospital after the game with a possible throat contusion.
Kevin Stefanski’s team headed west looking to cool off the Chargers. The Browns owned a 20-13 lead at the half and had already rolled up 263 total yards. But things would get wild as the teams would combine for 1,024 yards of total offense by afternoon’s end.
Nick Chubb ran for 161 yards and one touchdown, Baker Mayfield threw for 305 yards and two scores. Cleveland rolled up 531 yards of offense, played turnover-free football and came up short.
