They say defense wins championships. So perhaps the Raiders should go out and get a defense-minded head coach to bring them back to glory.

There are quite a few options out there, including ones with previous head coaching experience like Todd Bowles, Leslie Frazier and Raheem Morris. Those are all options to look at, though their prior failures running organizations could be held against them.

Las Vegas could instead give someone their first shot as a head coach after impressive results as a defensive coordinator. Colts DC Matt Eberflus might be that guy.

Eberflus was Peter King’s Assistant Coach of the Year in 2018, his first season in charge of Indianapolis’ defense. He’s known for doing less with more in terms of development.

The Raiders could go a million different directions. In the meantime, they’ll rely on Rich Bisaccia to run the show while they gather all the information they’ll need to make their next hire. The special teams coordinator could even make his case as a candidate with the bulk of the 2021 season still ahead of the team.
