With the Kansas City Chiefs in dire need of a win this weekend, they’re facing adversity on the injury front leading up to Sunday’s tilt with Washington.
It goes without saying, but the Kansas City Chiefs faithful might be ready to go into panic mode if the AFC powerhouse can’t record a win on Sunday against the Washington Football Team. No one expected the Chiefs to be at 2-3 after five games, but here we are.
To make things worse for the team and Andy Reid, three stars were unable to practice on Wednesday’s leading up to Sunday’s tilt: wide receiver Tyreek Hill, offensive lineman Joe Thuney and defensive end Chris Jones.

The Chiefs could be without multiple playmakers for Sunday’s contest at Washington
With Hill, this appears to be a precautionary measure. His quad contusion isn’t expected to sideline him for the Week 6 tilt. However, things are a bit more complicated for Thuney and Jones. Thuney went through the team walk-through, but he’s recovering from a broken hand. Because of that, it’s up in the air if he’ll be given the green light to rock, but the Chiefs are hopeful.
Last but not least, what will end up happening with Jones? Due to his wrist injury, he missed the Week 5 loss against the Buffalo Bills. His presence was surely missed, as the Kansas City defense once again was lit up in the 38-20 defeat. Josh Allen had himself a field day, recording four total touchdowns. The Chiefs simply had no answer in trying to contain him.
Against the Washington Football Team, Kansas City simply can’t overlook this team. They’re not playing at a high enough level to have that kind of confidence. We should know in the coming days if Hill, Thuney and Jones will be suiting up, or if any of them will have to sit this one out.
