Mississippi State WR’s NIL deal with tractor dealership will make your week
By Ethan Lee
Mississippi State wide receiver Jaden Walley may have just signed the best NIL deal possible.
While a ton of people may be concerned about how NIL deals are potentially somehow ruining college athletics, one tractor dealership based in Mississippi and Arkansas has made a particularly great NIL deal possible for a wide receiver at Mississippi State.
Jaden Walley, a sophomore with the Bulldogs, recently signed a deal with Mississippi AG, a John Deere dealership that has locations throughout the state.
And the best way to announce such a sponsorship deal being made? By getting Walley to climb up on a tractor, while wearing camouflage coveralls and boots, so you can take a photo to turn into a social media graphic for Twitter.

This is unironically the best thing ever. It’s an embracement of agriculture, an NIL deal that in some way benefits a college athlete, and a genius way to get plenty of exposure for a business.
This NIL deal between Mississippi State wide receiver Jaden Walley and a tractor dealership is perfect
Mississippi State is an ag school and Starkville is surrounded by farming communities. Heck, Mississippi State, at one time in its history, was known as Agricultural and Mechanical College of the State of Mississippi.
On top of that, much of the state of Mississippi is supported by some form of agriculture. While cotton is often what first comes to mind when many think of Mississippi’s agricultural production, there are plenty of other agricultural endeavors going on in the Magnolia State.
From forestry to corn to soybeans to rice farms and everything else in between, there are an abundance of reasons why someone somewhere in Mississippi may need a tractor.
So, why not partner with prominent players from the prominent land-grant university in the state to help sell your tractors? It’s a brilliant move that makes a ton of sense for the local economy. Plus it creates great content for us to celebrate. Good on you, Walley and AgUp.
