4. Deshaun Watson
Watson is easily the most overpaid player in the NFL this season due to his off-the-field issues. Heās not expected to play another snap for the Texans.
The only chance Watson has to start providing value against his mammoth contract is to arrange a trade to a team thatās willing to endure the public relations storm that will follow putting him onto the field. To date, Houstonās trade demands have proven to be a non-starter for quarterback-needy teams around the league.
At some point, itās likely that Watson will get a new start somewhere else. On the field, he is a magician when the ball is in his hands. Heās got above-average arm talent but itās his exceptional running ability that keeps defensive coordinators up at night.
Projecting Watsonās future in the NFL is impossible until his off-the-field issues get ironed out. Itās possible this contract wonāt even remain intact after that situation is resolved. Until then, heās a highly overpaid clipboard holder for Houston.
