Countless debates are started before the season even begins, carried on throughout the year, and then somehow even continued on after it’s presented.
Last season’s presentation took place after the award is normally given out due to COVID-19. That presentation actually took place in Jan. 2021 when, in a normal world without a global pandemic, it would have been awarded to the winner prior to that.
So when can we expect to see the Heisman Trophy Presentation for this season?
When is the 2021 Heisman Trophy presentation?
While this past season’s trophy was given out in January, the award presentation typically takes place in December. It’s generally scheduled in the brief moment of emptiness that is prior to the start of the bowl season but shortly the end of the conference championship games.
So, yeah, this award is traditionally given out before the season is even complete. And generally, a significant portion of the voting is done before the conference championship games are all wrapped up.
This year, for this season, the ballots will be distributed on Nov. 29, according to the Heisman Trophy’s official website. The voting deadline this year is set for Dec. 6 and the finalists for the award will be named that same day. The trophy presentation will take place on Dec. 11.
