Leonard Fournette gave props to Ty Davis-Price for breaking his single-game rushing yards record on Saturday against Florida.
The LSU Tigers had a two-game losing streak when entering Saturday’s matchup against the Florida Gators. That skid officially reached its end in Baton Rouge, as the Tigers outdueled the Gators in a 49-42 victory.
Plenty of credit for the wins goes to running back Ty Davis-Price ran for 287 yards on the day, breaking the single-game record set by Leonard Fournette back in 2016.
Following the game, Fournette tweeted out a congratulatory message to Davis-Price for breaking his record.
Congrats @TyDavisPrice https://t.co/GRzStI5vW5

Ty Davis Price sets single-game rushing record for LSU
Florida’s run defense had a miserable time stopping Davis-Price, as they surrendered an average of 8.0 yards per carry to him. Not to mention that Davis-Price was responsible for three touchdowns on the day.
To make things that much crazier about this feat by Davis-Price is that he actually matched his total rushing yards on the season entering the Florida game! Through six games, Davis-Price actually picked up 287 yards on 67 carries.
On Oct. 22, 2016, Fournette and LSU faced off against the No. 23 Ole Miss Rebels. Fournette proceeded to run all over Ole Miss, as he picked up 284 yards and three touchdowns on 16 carries. That’s right, Fournette rushed for an absurd 17.8 yards per run that game!
Ironically, Davis-Price and LSU now set their focus on Ole Miss next Saturday. Is it possible that the junior running back can break his own record?
