Quarterback Will Rogers III and the Mississippi State Bulldogs had an upset win on their minds. they faced of against the No. 5 Alabama Crimson Tide, who lost their first game of the season a week prior to the Texas A&M Aggies.

With Rogers III being in the spotlight as he tries to lead his offense into the end zone to keep up with Alabama, viewers are wondering if he is related to late film and stage actor Will Rogers.

Is Will Rogers III related to Will Rogers?

The answer to that question is no. The actor and vaudeville performer who was born on Nov. 4, 1879 and passed away in a plane crash Aug. 15, 1935.

Rogers III was born to Will and Judy Rogers on Aug. 19, 2001, per his Mississippi State profile. Entering Saturday night, Rogers III accumulated 75.7 percent of his passes for 1,862 yards, 14 touchdowns and two interceptions through five games. That was always likely to change against Alabama, in Week 7, though.

While the pair of Will Rogerses might not be related, they both have talent that puts them in the limelight of their respective fields. It’s always interesting when two high-profile people have the same name, even if they aren’t related in the end.
