3 replacements Giants can hire for Joe Judge after blowout loss
By Byron Smith
1. Brian Daboll – Offensive Coordinator, Buffalo Bills
The New York Giants have a culture problem right now. Whether they inherited that problem from Joe Judge or had it long before he got there is irrelevant. Normal teams do not get into brawls with themselves during training camp unless there is a bigger culture issue.
There is not a head coach better prepared to walk in the room and sort that out in a healthy and productive way than Brian Daboll.
Daboll is a leader as a coach, and one that players vocally rally behind and love. The Buffalo Bills, who had a loser mentality for nearly a decade after playing little brother to New England, are now a Super Bowl contender and play with a swagger and intensity that signposts a clear change in attitude in the locker room.
Daboll has been fundamental in the development of Josh Allen, which should make him irresistible for a team that is likely going to be making changes under center this off-season. Even if the Giants hold on to Jones, there is the hope that maybe Daboll can still find the diamond in there somewhere.
Further, Daboll has experience calling plays, being an offensive coordinator under a defensive head coach. He is not just good at calling plays, he is excellent at calling plays, having led a top-10 offense the last two years.
His biggest mark is similar to Bieniemy, he will need a competent defensive coordinator, but unlike the Chiefs OC, he has a ton of connections in that department. He has spent significant time in the league, including many years under Bill Belichick, which will give him ties to some great defensive minds.
