Kyle Schwarber keeps Red Sox grand slam party alive with Game 3 moonshot (Video)
The Red Sox can’t stop hitting grand slams in the ALCS as Kyle Schwarber blew open Game 3 with a monster blast after Boston hit two in Game 2.
On Saturday afternoon, the Boston Red Sox blew open Game 2 of the ALCS against the Astros with two grand slams in the first two innings, the first time in the MLB Postseason that a team has hit a pair of grand slams in the same game.
Kyle Schwarber wasn’t about to let the party stop there.
With the series heading to Fenway for Game 3, the Red Sox opened up a 2-0 lead but then the bases got juiced with Schwarber at the plate. He worked the count to 3-0 and then got his pitch, which he unloaded on with a moonshot well over the short porch in right field to give the Red Sox a commanding 6-0 lead.
Red Sox make MLB Playoff history with third grand slam of ALCS
Not only did the Red Sox already make history by hitting two grand slams in Game 2, but Schwarber’s blast made even more.
With the grand slam, Boston became the first team to hit three grand slams in the same series. For those who need a reminder, this is only Game 3 of the ALCS.
Suffice it to say, the Red Sox bats might be heating up, which makes them a huge threat at this point of the postseason.
