The Atlanta Braves jumped out to a lead over the Dodgers in Game 5 of the NLCS because of a sweet-sounding home run from Freddie Freeman.

Will the Atlanta Braves be able to put last year’s nightmare to bed by closing out the Dodgers this time around?

It sure helps to have someone like Freddie Freeman around to smack a first-inning home run into the stands.

Dodger Stadium acoustics add icing to the cake on Freddie Freeman home run

The sound of a baseball leaving a baseball bat is unique in sports. For Braves fans, that one was extra beautiful. For Dodgers fans, it might have sounded more like an ax falling on their neck.

Game 5 could decide the series with the Braves up 3-1. In 2020, they let the Dodgers come back from a 3-1 deficit, so Thursday night’s game is a psychological challenge on both sides.

Freeman struck the first blow, but surely there will be more to come.
