Bill Walton graced the College GameDay set with his larger-than-life antics as the guest picker ahead of UCLA’s battle with Oregon.
When ESPN decided to take College GameDay out to Los Angeles for UCLA’s matchup with Oregon, there was only one choice for guest picker.
Bill Walton was tailor-made for the GameDay atmosphere.
In fact, the powers that be could have picked a Bruins game against anyone just to get Walton on the set.
College GameDay guest picker: Bill Walton was wild as usual
It did not take long for Walton to do something whacky as a representative of the “Conference of Champions.”
Bill Walton: “We are the Conference of Champions. No truck stops here.”

“Does Alabama play road games? How bout they come to the Rose Bowl, the conference of champions?” Bill Walton is a legend 😂

If you set an over/under on the number of times “Conference of Champions” was uttered during the appearance, it was definitely the over. He even picked USC to beat Notre Dame, drawing boos from the crowd of Bruins. He got them back by picking UCLA to beat Oregon.
“Have you ever seen a bear fight a duck?”

You could have taken the over on the sheer number of growls the former basketball star would unleash as well.
Walton has become a fixture calling Pac-12 basketball games with unusual flair. His rapport with Dave Pasch has turned those broadcasts into a spectacle, for better or worse.
When it comes to Walton, you either love him or hate him. He’s either uniquely entertaining or outrageously grating. His GameDay appearance was always bound to be memorable.
