Braves concession stands selling your own personal heart attack for Game 6
By Mark Powell
Braves fans are dealing with enough heart issues as the team threatens to blow another 3-1 lead to the Dodgers. Now, the concession stands aren’t doing them any favors.
Give Truist Park some credit. In what could be their final home game of the 2021 season, the Braves are giving fans every opportunity to eat away their anxiety.
Atlanta once held a 3-1 lead in the NLCS — just as they did last year to the Dodgers before blowing a chance at making it to the World Series. The Braves lost Game 5 in painful fashion in Los Angeles, sending the series back to Atlanta for what could be another crushing defeat.
Braves fans do not want to see Game 7. If things go south early on Saturday night, expect the concession lines to grow with more orders for the Southern Cycle Burger.
Oh dear god.
Braves can’t afford to send this series back to Los Angeles
Game 6 technically isn’t a must-win for the Braves, but a Game 7 in Los Angeles is a daunting task for a team that — at that point — would have lost two straight contests. Brian Snitker’s crew has their backs against the wall, especially after losing Game 5 thanks to superb efforts from Chris Taylor and A.J. Pollock.
The Dodgers will turn to Walker Buehler on short rest, and then hope Max Scherzer can miraculously pitch Game 7 despite his current injury struggles.
