5 college football quarterbacks that should be benched after Week 8
By John Buhler
Some college football teams may need to consider making a change at quarterback here soon.
With so much of the college football season left to be played, do not be shocked if some teams decide to make a change at the most important position on the field before it is too late.
Making a change at quarterback at this point of the season usually means one of two things: An act of desperation to save one’s season or to open the door to see what a team might have readily available for next year. Most of these programs of note contemplating a quarterback change have recruited marvelously for years, so no doubt about the players they could look to use under center.
If any major teams of note look to make a change at the quarterback position, why not these five?

Anthony Brown is not exactly running away with it leading the Oregon Ducks
While the Oregon Ducks improved to 6-1 on the year over a solid UCLA Bruins team in Week 8, starting quarterback Anthony Brown did not make things easier for head coach Mario Cristobal to figure out at the quarterback position. Brown was the signal-caller that did chase off Tyler Shough to Texas Tech, but it feels like he is being pushed from the promising freshman Ty Thompson now.
Brown completed 29-of-39 passes for 296 yards. While he had six carries for 85 yards and a touchdown, he also had two interceptions. This allowed a good, but not great UCLA team to stick around much longer than the Bruins should have. Simply put, Brown may have already hit his ceiling in this Oregon offense. That is fine, but is this ceiling good enough for Oregon to win out?
While Brown is not getting benched by Cristobal for Thompson after a win, it may be coming soon.
