Alabama has thoroughly dominated the Third Saturday in October of late over Tennessee.

Though the Third Saturday in October is one of the most storied and celebrated rivalries in the SEC, the Alabama Crimson Tide have had their way with the Tennessee Volunteers for the last decade-plus.

While the Third Saturday in October is known for lengthy winning streaks, the heater the Crimson Tide are on is something else. Alabama has won the last 14 meetings vs. Tennessee.

The last time the Volunteers beat the Crimson Tide on the gridiron came on Oct. 21, 2006. Nick Saban was still in the NFL, Mike Shula was in Tuscaloosa and Phillip Fulmer was in Knoxville.

Since taking over the Crimson Tide in 2007, Saban has yet to lose a game to his team’s cross-divisional rival.

Third Saturday in October: When was the last time Tennessee beat Alabama?

The Volunteers won a narrow one in Knoxville over the Crimson Tide during their annual meeting in 2006.

Despite starting quarterback Erik Ainge throwing three picks for the Vols, running back Arian Foster scored the lone touchdown for them in a nail-biter, winning 16-13. The biggest difference in the game was Tennessee beat Alabama through the air 302 to 158 in passing yards.

So much has changed in the college football landscape since the last time the Vols beat Alabama. Literally, no Tennessee football fan has been able to post about a Vols win over the Tide on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

That’s just how long it’s been since Tennessee football beat Alabama.
