Michigan fans should be excited about the potential that quarterback J.J. McCarthy has.

With the way Michigan Wolverines quarterback J.J. McCarthy continues to make impressive highlights happen, Michigan football fans should be excited about the future. Interestingly enough, the NFL Network’s Rich Eisen certainly seems to be impressed by the young Michigan quarterback.

McCarthy has looked sharp throughout the season while he’s been on the field. Sure, his playing time has been limited, but the Wolverines have made some remarkable plays with the true freshman quarterback at the helm.

That includes this gem from the Wolverines’ game against the Northwestern Wildcats.

The Wolverines, and their fans, should like what they see from McCarthy. Eisen likely isn’t alone in being impressed by the young Michigan quarterback and his tweet should sum up how Wolverines fans feel about McCarthy.

Rich Eisen impressed with Michigan quarterback J.J. McCarthy

McCarthy is playing a reserve role to Cade McNamara but showing flashes of brilliance when he plays. He was 3-of-5 passing for 34 yards and added 36 rushing yards in the win vs. Northwestern.

McCarthy, who was a 247Sports Composite five-star recruit, was one of the highest-rated recruits during the 2021 recruiting class. If McCarthy continues to develop, and Jim Harbaugh is with the Wolverines for the foreseeable future, Michigan’s offense might just continue to be fun.

Harbaugh has his team ranked in the AP poll top 10, unbeaten at 7-0, and the Wolverines entered into their game against Northwestern averaging 440.5 yards per game and 38.5 points per game.

While it seems odd to think about when considering how the Wolverines have performed on offense in recent years under Harbaugh, the Wolverines’ offense is a ton of fun to watch right now. Oh, and there’s plenty of upside for the foreseeable future with McCarthy’s talent.
