Atlanta Falcons star quarterback Matt Ryan shouts out the Atlanta Braves in a post-win tweet.
Matt Ryan congratulated the Atlanta Braves on clinching a World Series berth in a really cool post-win tweet by the Atlanta Falcons quarterback.
Ryan has been an Atlanta ambassador since the Dirty Birds drafted him No. 3 overall out of Boston College way back in 2008. He is the greatest quarterback in franchise history and the 2016 NFL MVP will one day have a bronze bust in Canton, Ohio. Fresh off another game-winning drive to sink the Miami Dolphins, Ryan made sure he congratulated his city’s baseball team as well.
Top Atlanta athletes have done a great job in recent years of celebrating other teams’ success.
Atlanta Falcons: Matt Ryan congratulates Atlanta Braves on World Series berth
While the Dirty Birds improved to 3-3 on the season under first-year head coach Arthur Smith, most of the city’s focus is on the baseball team winning the NL pennant for the first time since 1999. There are also plenty of ATLiens out there who also root for the No. 1 team in college football in Kirby Smart’s Georgia Bulldogs. It is an amazing time to be an Atlanta area sports fan.
With the Falcons being well ahead of schedule on their rebuild, maybe they can earn an unexpected Wild Card berth in the NFC? This team is 3-3 and should be 4-2 if not for that fourth-quarter collapse to the Washington Football Team in Week 4. Factor in Atlanta United making a postseason push and the Atlanta Hawks coming off their best season ever. It has been unreal.
Ryan celebrating his team’s win and the Braves’ World Series return is true and authentic joy.
