During his radio hit on The Michael Kay Show, ESPN MLB insider Jeff Passan dropped an absolute bombshell: He forecasts Los Angeles Dodgers All-Star shortstop Corey Seager to go to the New York Yankees in his free agency.

Since the Bronx Bombers have not won an AL pennant in over a decade now, they are once again expected to be big spenders in free agency. While it will cost a team like New York well over $300 million to procure the services of a player like Seager, perhaps he will be the type of player that will get the Yankees back on top and into the World Series? He may come, but he will not come cheap.

Adding Seager in free agency means Gleyber Torres will no longer be the Yankees’ starting shortstop. It may also prevent the Yankees from being serious contenders to re-sign Anthony Rizzo in his high-profile free agency. The good news is New York still has their other marquee piece acquired at the trade deadline still arbitration eligible in left-handed slugger Joey Gallo.
