Error on the ball in glove

Atlanta has only themselves to blame for falling down 5-1 during a disastrous second inning. However, they narrowed the gap to 5-2 and still had life in the sixth inning.

Things went from bad to worse when Ozzie Albies fumbled a throw at second. Had Albies made a clean play, the Braves might have turned a double play and ended the inning. He didn’t and Yuli Gurriel took first.

To add insult to injury, replay review determined Kyle Tucker was safe at second because Albies apparently never caught the ball. It was a questionable call at best.

The ball was in Albies glove. It trickled out when he went to throw it, but it was all the way in his glove. Calling that not a catch is asinine.

Back-to-back “strikeouts”

There were even calls in Game 1 that screwed the Braves, which makes their victory all the more impressive.

The worst of those were consecutive strikeouts that definitely weren’t strikeouts.

At least those didn’t impact the outcome of the game since the Braves got all the runs they needed on Tuesday night.

Atlanta will have to hope their umpire luck turns around when they go back to their home park because at this rate they’ll face an uphill battle winning the series.
