3. Tony Pollard will have more carries than Ezekiel Elliott

Elliott has been the Cowboys’ clear No. 1 running back this year even if the workload has been more split than most fans expected coming into the season. This is one week where Pollard has a strong chance to get more carries than his fellow running back.

First off, Elliott’s been limited in practice this week with a rib injury. That’s not a great weakness to possess going up against Mike Zimmer’s physical front seven. Dallas’ offensive coaching staff will be very cognizant of limiting Elliott’s workload to avoid aggravating his rib malady.

Pollard also has a chance to be the more effective rusher given his slashing style. Running up the middle against the Vikings might be difficult for Dallas. Giving Pollard the chance to get to the perimeter may be an easier way for the Cowboys to find yards on the ground.

Elliott won’t be an afterthought in this game, but look for Pollard to narrowly edge him out in terms of rushing attempts. Elliott’s role in the pass game will still give him more total touches, but Pollard is a great play for fantasy owners this week.
