FanDuel NFL 2021: Best lineup for Week 8
Running Backs
Jonathan Taylor, Indianapolis Colts vs. Tennessee Titans-$8,500
Taylor has scored a touchdown in four straight games, with over 100 rushing yards in three of them. He has left the other Colts’ running backs in his wake, even running more routes than Nyheim Hines in recent weeks with three catches in three of the same aforementioned four games.
It’s not a great matchup for Taylor in Week 8, as the Tennessee Titans are among the 10 stingiest defenses in fantasy points allowed to running backs. In Week 4, Taylor set his season-low with 10 carries against them, with just one catch on one target. But since then, the aforementioned four-game run has ensued. Something changed with how Taylor would be used, perhaps spurred by that game.
In what should be a competitive game, I’m comfortable booking Taylor for 20-25 touches.
Kenneth Gainwell, Philadelphia Eagles at Detroit Lions-$5,900
Gainwell had five carries for 20 yards against the Raiders in Week 7, along with four catches for 41 yards and a touchdown (on eight targets). Miles Sanders also suffered an ankle injury that’s expected to cost him Sunday’s game against the Detroit Lions. If he does play, he’s sure to be limited by the injury, rather than a lack of usage as has been usual.
Even after a strong showing against the Rams’ running backs in Week 7, the Lions are still a bottom-5 fantasy defense against running backs this year. The following nugget mentions DraftKings, but it applies to FanDuel too.
Gainwell is an easy DFS play this week. I couldn’t ignore the value and upside.
