Braves ace Charlie Morton, however, broke his fibula, meaning he’ll be out the rest of the series and, therefore, the rest of the season. Atlanta expects Morton to make a full recovery before Spring Training.
Perhaps most impressive about Morton’s brief performance was that he struck out two batters after breaking his leg. And you thought you were tough.
Without Morton, the Braves will turn to young star Max Fried to give them a 2-0 lead heading home to Atlanta, which would be a nearly insurmountable lead for the Astros to overcome. That’s what makes Wednesday night as close to a must-win as possible for Houston.
