QB Tua Tagovailoa

The likelihood of the Steelers trading for a quarterback seems pretty slim. They’re loyal to Ben Roethlisberger for better or for worse.

The trouble is the latter has tended to outweigh the former this year. The aging quarterback looks limited and could be the ultimate barrier to Pittsburgh making waves in the playoffs.

So there would be value in exploring options at quarterback.

Deshaun Watson is the biggest prize out there but he’s reportedly only waived his no-trade clause for the Dolphins. The situation with Miami could still open a door for the Steelers. After all, if they make the move for Watson, Tua Tagovailoa could end up on the block.

Tagovailoa would solve some problems for Pittsburgh, giving them a former first-round talent who hasn’t been able to spread his wings in the NFL just yet.

Trading for Tagovailoa would inject something fresh into the Steelers’ offense. It would give them something to build on for the future as well.
