Pittsburgh Steelers

The Steelers may be a surprise on this list, as the franchise is known far and wide for drafting and developing some of the NFL’s best wide receivers.

Although Antonio Brown is long gone and JuJu Smith-Schuster is out for the season, the Steelers still have depth at the position. Diontae Johnson has gotten nine receptions in three of his five games this season, and Chase Claypool has gotten 70 or more yards in three of his five games. Even though the Steelers are rounding out the bottom of the AFC North with a 3-3 record, its receivers are still eating with Ben Roethlisberger cooking up plays.

But Roethlisberger is, as NFL.com writer Nick Shook put it, “an over-the-hill quarterback beginning a rapid descent“, which puts its bevy of talented receivers in a difficult position. An elite wideout like Allen Robinson II could aid Roethlisberger’s ailing arm as Robinson II secures potentially inaccurate passes.

If the Steelers did trade for Robinson II rather than wait until he hits free agency, they would land a top-tier receiver that still has a lot left to give on the field. Whenever the Steelers do move on from Big Ben, which appears to be sooner rather than later, the team will already have some of the NFL’s best wideouts in their arsenal. Rookie quarterback or not, having that caliber of receiver at the position immensely helps an offense to move along — just look at how New England has struggled without the right receivers.
