New England Patriots

The New England Patriots have a knack for developing quarterback, a talent best exemplified by Tom Brady and proven again through Mac Jones.

But one area of weakness New England has always struggled with in the Bill Belichick era is their ability to draft wide receivers. The last great receiver Belichick took was Kent State quarterback Julian Edelman, and that was in 2009.

So when trade discussion crop up every year, the Patriots are always in a place to make a play for a better wideout. They’ve proven to be no stranger to elite wide receiver pickups, whether it’s Randy Moss, Josh Gordon or Antonio Brown.

With Belichick’s boldness in cap spending and their rapid development of Jones at quarterback, it would be a game-changer if the Patriots landed Allen Robinson II mid-season. The team is coming off a 54-13 bludgeoning of the New York Jets, and the 3-4 Pats are now second in their division.

Unlike the NFC, the AFC is looking wide open for playoff runs, so any of these AFC teams stand a much better chance with Robinson II. But with Belichick at coach, Jones at quarterback and another season with the Boogeymen, rumors that the team is interested in Robinson II seem too good to be true.
