Houston Texans: Raiders’ DE Clelin Ferrell
One of the biggest surprises and busts from the 2019 NFL Draft is the Raiders’ drafting of Clemson defensive end Clelin Ferrell fourth overall. Ferrell was a first-round prospect, but the entire NFL world was laughing at the Raiders for taking him fourth overall.
Now, he’s completely fallen out of the pass-rush rotation for Las Vegas and is losing playing time for other rushers. Ferrell has only played 18% of snaps for the Raiders this season; not the kind of production you want from a former top-five pick. A breakup seems inevitable.
The Houston Texans would be a great place for Ferrell to revive his career and play meaningful snaps. The Texans are ranked around the middle of the league in sack percentage, so a new addition and replacement for Jonathan Greenard would certainly be welcome, especially one with a fairly reasonable contract and still untapped potential.
The Texans dealing for Ferrell may be beneficial for both sides for years to come.
