Pittsburgh Steelers: 49ers’ QB Jimmy Garoppolo

Not only is it time for the Steelers to move on from Big Ben, but it’s also time for the 49ers to hand the reigns over to Trey Lance. This move will cause waves across the entire league, but it makes a lot of sense for all involved.

Big Ben is having one of the worst seasons of his career, as he’s been making questionable decisions and at times can’t even stay on his feet. It’s reflected on the Steelers’ play, as the rest of the team is competitive, but they can’t truly be contenders in the AFC with him at quarterback anymore. Getting rid of him would be a bittersweet deal, as they’re moving on from one of the greatest quarterbacks ever.

Handing the reigns over to Garoppolo after having them taken away from him with the 49ers would ignite the whole offense and end the wasting of a very talented defense. Garoppolo has been average this year, but he did lead the 49ers to the Super Bowl.

In one of the most unexpected trades in recent memory, this trade would actually make sense for both sides. It gives the Steelers time to compete while giving Garoppolo a chance to be their long-term starter while allowing the 49ers to give the offense over to the quarterback that was hand-picked by Kyle Shanahan.
