Packers pass-rusher Za’Darius Smith is back in Green Bay and he’s chomping at the bit to get back on the field with his teammates.

For the Green Bay Packers, the defense has looked sharp in recent weeks and the unit’s play is only going to get better when Za’Darius Smith is back in the fold. The pass-rusher underwent back surgery in late September, but he’s been working around the clock to try and get healthy.

Well, Smith has flown back to Green Bay to take things to the next level in terms of his recovery. How’s he feeling? Smith took to Twitter to share his excitement of being back in town, while also telling a fan he feels like a new man.

Za’Darius Smith is ready to make plenty of plays for the Packers

While Smith may have been joking, it’s clear that he’s feeling incredible right now. That’s great news for the Packers and bad news for the rest of the NFC. Green Bay is looking fantastic right now and they’ve got plenty of confidence.

They were underdogs heading into Thursday’s showdown with the Arizona Cardinals. Despite that, Aaron Rodgers was fantastic running the offense, while the defense made several big plays, none bigger than Rasul Douglas’ game-sealing interception.

Smith, who has been to back-to-back Pro Bowls with Green Bay, has only been able to suit up for one game this season. In 2019 and 2020, he combined for 26 sacks, with 13.5 coming in ’19 and 12.5 in ’20.

Now that he’s inching closer and closer to returning to the gridiron, the mood around Green Bay is only getting better. Smith will play a massive role for this team once he does get back. Watch out for the Packers the rest of the way here, folks.
