Arch Manning visited Clemson on Saturday to watch them play Florida State but did the Tigers’ struggles in that game cost them their chance at the QB?
The Arch Manning recruitment tour has been going to virtually every major college football program in the country over the past few weeks. On Saturday, he was at Clemson to watch the Tigers take on the Florida State Seminoles.
Suffice it to say, he didn’t get to see the best performance in the world, even in the always-electric Death Valley. Clemson trailed 20-17 late in the game and, even if they ended up with a 30-20 win thanks to a last-second defensive score, it was a less than stellar performance from Dabo Swinney’s team.
And with Arch Manning basically having his choice of which major college football program he wants to lead in the future, you have to wonder if this performance from the Tigers might’ve cost them their chance at the heir to the Manning throne.
Is Clemson out of the race for Arch Manning after blowing their shot?
Though we aren’t behind the scenes in Manning’s recruitment, many people certainly seem to think this might’ve been a nail in the coffin for Clemson’s chances of landing the quarterback.
ESPN just showed a pregame meeting between Dabo Swinney and Arch Manning (No.1 QB in Class of 2023).

Immediately following that came a fumble by current Clemson QB D.J. Uiagalelei and a scoop 'n' score by FSU.
Amazing television.
Lol no way Arch Manning wants to go to this school

ESPN showing Arch Manning in the house at Clemson right before DJU gets scooped and scored by Florida State is just poetic, really

Arch Manning isn’t headed to Clemson.
Someone cover Arch Manning’s eyes.

Again, it’s certainly too early to say whether or not this will define what Arch Manning does with his eventual college decision.
However, it’s definitely not a stretch to say that Clemson didn’t do anything to help their case with the Florida State game, in addition to the lackluster season the Tigers have endured thus far by their standards.
