College football fans may have witnessed an all-time bad beat ever during Saturday’s game between Clemson and Florida State.
On Saturday, Clemson and Florida State faced off in a battle between the two ACC programs. But when it comes to bad beats, this may very well be an all-timer.
The Seminoles trailed 24-20 with four seconds remaining in regulation and over 65-yards out of the end zone. So, they decided to pull off a trick play with laterals. The move spectacularly backfired, as Clemson recovered a backwards pass and took it into the end zone for a touchdown.
Clemson-Florida State ends with bad beat
The line for the Clemson-Florida State game was set at 9.5 in favor of the Tigers, and both programs were playing within four points of one another. Then, Florida State’s failed trick play ended with a ridiculous bad beat, as the Tigers won by 10 points.
To make things even funnier (except for those of you whose bets went wrong), the over/under was set at 47.5. The over won on that very play.
