Ohio State associate head coach Larry Johnson poked fun at Penn State head coach James Franklin ahead of Saturday’s huge game.

Saturday night will feature a huge matchup in the Big Ten. The Ohio State Buckeyes are on a mission to make it to the College Football Playoff, while the Penn State Nittany Lions look to end those aspirations with a win on Saturday night.

At Ohio State’s skull session on Saturday, associate head coach and defensive line coach Larry Johnson poked fun at Penn State head coach James Franklin, who mistakenly said in a press conference this past week that he was focused on playing Illinois when asked about his future with the program. The thing is, the Nittany Lions were playing the Buckeyes this week.

Franklin also mentioned in that very presser that they were playing at “the Big House,” which is home to the Michigan Wolverines. Hey, it happens to the best of us.

That is why Johnson said that they will be playing in “The Shoe,” aka Ohio Stadium and that it will be a scarlet-out, not a white-out.

Penn State was once near the top of the nation this season, but they have since entered a two-game skid. First, they lost 23-20 to the Iowa Hawkeyes and then lost 20-18 to Illinois in a nine-overtime battle.

As for Ohio State, they have rebounded nicely from their loss to the Oregon Ducks earlier in the season. They have gone on to win their next five games in convincing fashion. If they were to win out the remainder of the season and if one of Cincinnati, Oklahoma or Alabama were to lose, they could very well make it into the Playoff.

Ohio State had some fun at Franklin’s expense prior to the game. We shall see if they will emerge with a victory on Saturday night.
