Former Florida football legend Tim Tebow praises Georgia but isn’t ready to dismiss his Gators in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party.

If anyone is going to beat Georgia in the regular season this year, it may be Florida.

But Florida hasn’t been able to get out of their own way for much of the year that has Gators fans questioning whether Dan Mullen is long for the job in Gainesville.

Ahead of the rivalry game vs. Georgia, Tim Tebow joined the Paul Finebaum Show to give his thoughts on how well the Dawgs have played this year. It’s not going to be something Florida fans want to see.

Tim Tebow thinks Georgia is the best team in college football, but not invincible

“I think when you look from top to bottom, I think Georgia’s the best team in the country,” Tebow said. “I think when you look at their front 7, and it is really good, I think one of the most physical we’ve probably seen in the last 10 years. I think they’re playing very fundamentally sound football. I think they do almost nothing to hurt themselves. They turn the football over very rarely, they run the football, they score in the red zone and Stetson Bennett has been very efficient.”

The stunning admission isn’t that Tebow thinks Georgia is the best team in the country. They are the No. 1 team in all the polls after all. The stunning admission is that Tebow actually thinks the Gators have a chance to upset the Bulldogs despite their track record over the last year that they are an average team.

Tim Tebow thinks Florida may upset Georgia

“I think in this game it’s a little bit different,” said Tebow,” yes Georgia’s No. 1, Florida’s unranked, but it’s like I said two weeks ago when Florida went to Death Valley and everybody’s saying ‘it won’t be a game, Florida’s going to kill them.’ That’s a rivalry game and you’re going into a unique environment. LSU played up to the level of their competition.

“I think Florida’s going to do the same thing. If you look at history in this game, it doesn’t always matter who’s the ranked team. It doesn’t always matter what the record is. I think Dan has coached really well in this game, even when he’s had more of an underdog team, I think you’ll see some really good things”

Florida is expected to start Anthony Richardson over Emory Jones at quarterback so perhaps that change gives some juice to the Gators offense and causes the Georgia defense some fits. Thus far, nothing has caused that unit fits.
