ESPN’s College GameDay is coming to the Queen City to see the Cincinnati football team play.

For the first time ever, ESPN’s College GameDay will make the trek to the Queen City, as the crew will be live to see the Cincinnati football team in person.

The Cincinnati Bearcats are 8-0 on the year and the No. 2 team in the country in the AP Top 25 poll While the College Football Playoff Selection Committee may have other ideas, it is great to see ESPN to give Luke Fickell’s program its due. Cincinnati has lost a total of one game over the last two years. If they win out, it will be very hard for the Selection Committee to keep them out.

Cincinnati will host the reeling Tulsa Golden Hurricane at Nippert Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

Cincinnati football: ESPN’s College GameDay is coming to town for Week 10

Though there is still a month’s worth of games left to be played, Cincinnati is the presumptive favorite to win the Group of Five and make the New Year’s Six. However, Fickell and his Bearcats program are chasing history. With potentially two College Football Playoff sports available outside of the Big Ten and SEC champions, Cincinnati could be the first Group of Five team to make it in.

What helps them out a ton is they have a strong non-conference win over national independent power Notre Dame. However, the only game the Bearcats might have against a ranked team before the conference title bout could be against the SMU Mustangs. Keep in mind that Sonny Dykes’ team just lost to the Houston Cougars, a team who now might play Cincinnati for the AAC.

Though Tulsa is nothing to write home about, Cincinnati has earned a College GameDay Saturday.
