Scouting Report. Pick Analysis. Head Coach. Matt Nagy. 2. 57. Chicago Bears. player

Matt Nagy did not even coach on Sunday, but his seat has gotten even hotter

In a game that he did not even coach in, Matt Nagy is one week closer to not coaching the Chicago Bears anymore. Despite special teams coordinator Chris Tabor’s best efforts filling in for him, the Bears continued on their downward spiral. They are 3-5 after losing at home in a very winnable game vs. the equally struggling San Francisco 49ers. This Bears team stinks, and Nagy has to go.

Week after week, the Bears are among the toughest watches in the NFL. They might have a promising quarterback in rookie Justin Fields, but he and Bears fans do not deserve to see him be ruined before he gets a coach worthy of leading him. The Bears need to hire the NFL version of Ryan Day to get the most out of the former Ohio State Buckeyes superstar quarterback or else.

What has made the Bears’ situation so untenable is that they are without question directionless. How many more drafts will general manager Ryan Pace be allowed to screw up into oblivion? How many more awkward press conferences will Nagy be allowed to have? If the McCaskeys care one bit about what their fanbase thinks, they need to fire everyone but Fields and start the hell over.

When you make one bad decision after another and double-down on them, you become the Bears.
