Los Angeles Rams draft picks 2022 after trading for Von Miller
The Los Angeles Rams have been hoarding veteran talent for awhile, but it isn’t leaving them with many draft picks in future years.
If you’re a fan of the Los Angeles Rams, feel free to skip the 2022 NFL Draft.
Rams general manager Les Snead hasn’t made a first-round selection since the team moved up to take quarterback Jared Goff in 2016. Since then, he’s either being paying off the move for Goff or using his best capital to trade for cornerback Jalen Ramsey or quarterback Matthew Stafford, who Goff was also sent to the Detroit Lions for.
On Monday, Snead didn’t send a first-round pick (he didn’t have any) to the Denver Broncos but did part with second and third-round choices to acquire outside linebacker Von Miller. Miller, who has 4.5 sacks in seven games this season, will now play alongside All-Pro defensive tackle Aaron Donald and opposite edge rusher Leonard Floyd to create a fierce pass rush in Los Angeles.
However, all of Snead’s maneuvering has left Los Angeles with little in the way of draft picks.
The Rams’ 2022 draft picks are few and far between
As illustrated here by Warren Sharp of both NBC Sports and The Ringer, the Rams are without their own selections until the fifth round of the 2022 NFL Draft. They also sent their sixth-round choice to the New England Patriots to bring in running back Sony Michel after Cam Akers suffered a torn Achilles tendon this summer.
However, the Rams do have a pair of seventh-round picks, owning both their own and that of the Miami Dolphins.
