The Patriots tight ends will be the focal points offensively

Both Hunter Henry and Jonnu Smith are having solid years. The former has become Jones’ go-to man, especially in the red zone, while the latter has settled in as the No. 2 man opposite of Henry.

Sunday’s game against the Chargers broke a streak of four consecutive games with a touchdown for Henry. He has emerged as the safety blanket in the offense for New England, while also becoming an elite red zone threat.

The Patriots are playing a very good, and very deep secondary. Even without rookie star Jaycee Horn, the Panthers have several guys that would be starters on other teams. They signed A.J. Bouye this offseason, traded for the aforementioned Gilmore and second year man C.J. Henderson. Plus, Donte Jackson has played well, and they have solid depth behind them with Keith Taylor and Stanley Thomas-Oliver III.

The Patriots don’t have elite talent to compete with the Panthers’ secondary. This will lead them to look to the middle of the field with Henry and Smith. Expect big contributions from both tight ends as Jones looks to avoid the Panthers defensive backs on the outside.
