Browns excuse Odell Beckham, Jr. from practice: What comes next?
Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was excused from practice on Wednesday a day after his dad blasted Baker Mayfield on Instagram.
The drama continues for the Cleveland Browns and it’s not good whatsoever. Odell Beckham Jr. has been excused from practice on Wednesday after his dad didn’t hold back in putting Baker Mayfield on blast via his Instagram page.
In case you missed it, the elder Beckham posted a video of all the times Mayfield has missed the star receiver this season. Seriously? Now, with there clearly being issues in the locker room, Beckham is away from the field. What could end up happening here with the man known as OBJ?
Josina Anderson: Odell Beckham was ready to attend practice
NFL insider Josina Anderson was the one to break the Beckham news on Wednesday. On top of that, she also is reporting that Beckham was ready to attend practice and keep getting ready for this weekend’s upcoming showdown with the Cincinnati Bengals.
Clearly, though, things are a bit awkward here and Beckham’s dad is to blame. Beckham didn’t get traded before the deadline on Tuesday. How in the world can things be fixed from here? It sure seems like it’s going to be tough.
Cleveland could potentially end up releasing Beckham and just moving forward the rest of the season without him. Fans aren’t hoping for that to happen, however. Beckham is a playmaker with the ball in his hands. There’s a reason Cleveland went out and traded with the Giants to land him.
With that said, if things can’t be turned around here between him and Beckham, the front office very well could end up making a tough decision. Drama always seems to follow the wideout, but this time we all have his dad to thank for this latest episode.
