The 4-3 Atlanta Hawks head to Brooklyn to take on the 4-3 Brooklyn Nets at Barclays Center on Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 7:30 pm ET. 

NBA Wednesday opens with two marquee matchups: the night kicks off with the Hawks vs. Nets game at 7:30 pm, then transitions to the Charlotte Hornets vs. Golden State Warriors at 10:30 pm.

There’s a reason that these two playoff contenders are stealing the primetime spotlight despite their early-season records. Tied at 4-3, the Hawks and Nets have struggled thus far to find their rhythm in the 2021-22 season.

Hawks star John Collins need to step up his performance, as the young power forward signed a max deal over the offseason. Collins ranks No. 13 on FanSided’s list of 25-under-25, but their mediocre record doesn’t reflect the team that made it all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals last season.

The Nets have different issues for different reasons, namely bigger distractions with their star players. James Harden still hasn’t adjusted to the league’s new fouling rules, while Kyrie Irving is still nowhere to be found.

Still, these teams have the talent and potential to see deep playoff runs if they pull it together, and this early-season game could be an indicator of what’s to come later.
