College football upset pick Week 10, No. 2: Arkansas

Rank: NR | Opponent: vs. Mississippi State | Time: Saturday, Nov. 6, 4 p.m. ET

It’s not something one would expect that the Arkansas Razorbacks are the team that’s favored when they are unranked and their opponent is ranked in the top 20. That’s usually kept for teams with a national lineage or a history of winning big games. Arkansas does not have such a history, and they’ve actually lost their big games when they were in them this season.

Meanwhile, Mississippi State has big wins against Kentucky, NC State and Texas A&M coming into the matchup. They’ve had one of the harder schedules in the country, as they do have losses to Alabama and LSU. Mississippi State isn’t exactly consistent, but they are able to take out the big players when they have a chance.

Miss. State might watch this line move pretty dramatically after Tuesday night when they were ranked 17th by the College Football Playoff committee. They weren’t ranked at all in the AP Top 25, so it could be the reason Arkansas is opening as a 5.0-point favorite in this game. While you still can, make some bets on this game for Mississippi State because they are the better team in this matchup.
