10 TE sleepers to target for fantasy football Week 9
By Jakob Ashlin
Let’s break down 10 tight end sleepers to target for fantasy football Week 9.
Week 9 will mark the bye week for a few impactful fantasy tight ends including T.J. Hockenson, Rob Gronkowski, and Ricky Seals-Jones. If you are searching for a sleeper to start this week, here are ten options.
10. Brevin Jordan, Houston Texans
Rostered: 0.2%
The Texans’ tight end group has been confusing for fantasy owners this season. Jordan Akins and Pharaoh Brown have both had moments where they appeared to be the team’s top tight end.
However, rookie Brevin Jordan made his NFL debut last Sunday against the Rams, and he was impressive finishing with three receptions for 41 yards and a touchdown.
Jordan was selected by the Texans in the fifth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He was ranked as one of the best tight ends in his draft class.
With the Texans rebuilding, I would not be surprised to see Jordan more involved in their offense on Sunday against the Dolphins.
The potential return of Tyrod Taylor further raises his ceiling.
9. Marcedes Lewis, Green Bay Packers
Rostered: 0.5%
Last Thursday, Robert Tonyan suffered a torn ACL against the Arizona Cardinals. He was placed on the IR and will miss the remainder of the season.
Veteran Marcedes Lewis is a candidate to take over Tonyan’s role on offense. He is second among the Packers’ tight ends in targets this season trailing only Tonyan.
Unfortunately, Aaron Rodgers is expected to miss Sunday’s game after testing positive for COVID-19, which will ultimately limit Lewis’s upside against the Chiefs on Sunday.
Additionally, there is another option on the Packers that could be better for fantasy owners…
