Canelo Alvarez stops Caleb Plant via round 11 TKO to become undisputed (Video)

Canelo Alvarez remained undefeated as he stopped IBF champion Caleb Plant in round 11 via TKO. He’s now the undisputed champion.

Undisputed super middleweight champion is the new title for boxer Canelo Alvarez. He stopped formerly undefeated Caleb Plant on Saturday, Nov. 6, and added to his incredible legacy.

Alvarez (57-1-2, 39 KOs) is quickly etching his name in boxing record books, and he’s only 31 years old. Plant hoped that he could upset the pound-for-pound great, but he never stood a chance.

The crowd at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, NV, reached a deafening roar when Alvarez knocked Plant down for the first time in round 11. A right uppercut and left hook combination sent Plant down.

Plant (21-1, 12 KOs) got to his feet but was still hurt. Alvarez jumped on him and connected with several punches before a right to the body put Plant down again. Plant lay on the ground in exhaustion and pain. The referee stopped the fight immediately.

Alvarez is the first undisputed super middleweight of the four-belt era. Plant was the best the super middleweight division had to offer, and Alvarez cut through him like a knife.
