The Clemson Tigers look to improve their 2021 record with a win over the Louisville Cardinals on Saturday.
The Clemson Tigers are not going to make the College Football Playoff, given that they have lost three games this season. But they are going to ensure that they finish way above .500, as they seek their sixth win of the year. But, they will have to face the Louisville Cardinals.
Louisville will host their ACC rivals at Cardinal Stadium this Saturday. But when was the last time the Cardinals defeated the Tigers?
When is the last time Louisville defeated Clemson?
The last time the Cardinals earned a win over the Tigers was, well, never.
The two schools have met six times, with Clemson winning all of them. They last played each other two years ago, with Clemson cruising to a 45-10 victory. The year prior to that, Louisville was blown out 77-16.
Louisville came close in 2016 when Lamar Jackson nearly upset the Deshaun Watson-led Tigers, but the Cardinals fell short 42-36.
This is far from the Clemson powerhouse that we have been accustomed to in recent years. They have lost to the likes of North Carolina State and Pittsburgh this year. If there was ever a time for the Cardinals to get their first win against them, this is the year.
