With Michigan State and Wake Forest losing their first games of the season on Saturday, here are the remaining undefeated teams after Week 10.
It has become the norm to witness an upset loss on a college football Saturday. But how about witnessing two undefeated teams earning their first loss of the year? Well, that is exactly what Week 10 provided fans.
The Michigan State Spartans, who landed in the Top Four of the first College Football Playoff rankings, lost 40-29 to the Purdue Boilermakers. Then, the Wake Forest Demon Deacons fell to the North Carolina Tar Heels 58-55 to earn their first loss of the season.
With Michigan State and Wake Forest officially kicked out of the “Undefeated Club,” who else remains?
Remaining undefeated college football teams
Georgia Bulldogs
The Bulldogs are at the top of the college football world. Georgia easily disposed of the Missouri Tigers 43-6 on Saturday to not only remain undefeated, but will no doubt maintain the No. 1 spot on both the AP 25 and the CFP rankings.
Cincinnati Bearcats
Cincinnati did not crack the Top Four in the CFP rankings, despite being undefeated. The Bearcats extended their record to 9-0, but it was far from a cakewalk. The Tulsa Golden Hurricane were oh so close to tying things up at 28 points apiece, but a fumble at the goal line prevented that from happening. The Bearcats held on 28-20, and will look to hold onto their undefeated record to hopefully clinch a CFP spot.
Oklahoma Sooners
The Oklahoma Sooners remain undefeated…because they did not play in Week 10. They are currently on a bye week following a dominant 52-21 win over Texas Tech. To go 9-0 next week, they will have to beat a Baylor Bears team next week that lost to the Gary Patterson-less TCU Horned Frogs on Saturday.
UTSA Roadrunners
The UTSA Roadrunners were undefeated heading into the nightcap of the Week 10 schedule. Even though they were 8-0 on the year, they did not crack the initial CFP rankings list. Maybe a win over the UTEP Miners on Saturday can change that?
